New Restrictions for XL Bully dogs
From 1 February, anyone found in possession of an XL Bully dog that’s not registered and does not adhere to strict conditions, will face a criminal record and an unlimited fine. To keep an XL Bully dog it must be:

microchipped

kept on a lead and muzzled at all times when in public

kept in a secure place so it cannot escape

neutered
Owners must:

be over 16 years old

take out 3rd party public liability insurance against the dog injuring other people

be able to show the Certificate of Exemption when asked by a police officer or council dog warden
